Hi looks like you have searched for ‘D Min’ and the results are showing but you haven’t selected any results so you are in C Major which was your status quo (previously selected scale).
Either clear the search with the ‘x’ or select one of the search results.
thanks for the feedback. at this point due to kludge, UI in adolescence and Logic crashes I will have to check back in later. I love the idea and the results are great. it is inspiring when the software isnt getting in the way + love the tutorials but dont have time for bugs and crashes. will check back in upon each update.
my main feedback would be add zero more features until UI and performance is bullet proof and mature. doing so risks bloatware with unending bugs
Like I mentioned previously - you are not in D Min, you can see in your image that you have entered D Min in the search field there but have not selected a scale from the search results! You diatonic chords in section B show the chords of C Major!
Often what we don’t get as ‘expected behaviour’ can be misinterpreted as a ‘bug’. There are zero bugs for me, the team and our artist network In Logic Pro other than those listed in known issues which do not interfere with getting everything out of Scaler 3. If you have one to point out, I’d love to know about it - please do so and provide a report so we can investigate.
There are no bugs here but I can see the cause of confusion because section B is trying to serve two purposes: Showing the current scale and letting you search for a different one. Maybe it needs splitting into two with the search and results list first and the current scale listed below. Or maybe the search should be in a separate tab.
The “All Scales” being in Section A is odd too, because it doesn’t result in a Section A chord set. Clicking anything in All Scales “mode” just changes the Section B search box. Clicking in any other Section A “mode” gives you a chord progression in Section A and a current scale in section B. Inconsistency means more forum posts here!
And having typed all that I’ve had the epiphany. Search should be in its own section and the “All Scales” functionality should be moved to that section. Search/filter by name, mode, mood or by choosing notes on the keyboard. Then Section A contains only chord progressions and all the search and filter options are together.
Agreed on all points there and note that we moved search functionality away from All Scales into the Current Scale tab to make it more immediate. Moving All Scales into Section B somehow and procluding it from chord sets works too although we consider a collection of chords (be it diatonic or not) to be a chord set hence the reason it was there in the first place! All conundrums we’ve discussed. It’s much better now with 3.2 but as you say always room for UI Improvement.
