I have always been intimidated with creating “music” - and with Scaler I have learned that most of the “magic” happens in the chord harmonies. I am amazed how fairly straight forward it is to make an enjoyable piece of music (at least in the ambient style I like) with merely an evolving meandering chord progression.
This composition is based entirely on just walking up the chord progression when I select scale C Dorian and then “Variations” menu → “Tonic C”,
and then just walk up the keyboard from C2-C5 (see piano roll below)
This is why I love scaler so much, so many angles to explore and never hand held. You are doing the work, yesterday I was meandering by finding secondary dominants and flatten III’s and II’s as passing or in between chords. Something I could never do as a player but scaler always allows a form of experimentation. Nice work @Bernd
It goes simpler too, this one only has 4 chords in it. Played slowly enough to let the long evolving synth envelopes & modulations play out (ok, so most of my efforts go into sound design, not composing
