Scaler3 importing custom patterns to arranger

Is it possible to import custom patterns like arpeggios for a chord progression as a midi into scaler3 arranger?

I Hope you have a positive answer
I Hope so for that issue too

Hi @venkat welcome to the forum. For patterns like arpeggios there are plenty of preset patterns built in, and Scaler 3 has extensive real-time MIDI modifiers for creating limitless harmonic/rhythmic variations of these patterns.

As far as importing your own MIDI files, there is a new User Track feature currently being implemented which allows you to write your own MIDI patterns from scratch, so MIDI import is possible. But it is yet to be confirmed if this will be possible at launch. It not, it will likely come as an update after launch.

Hi, I’m noticing that many users have the same concern regarding importing MIDI files as patterns/motions.

I’m glad a user track is being created for this purpose, although I think each track should have its own MIDI import. That is, if I want a new bass or guitar riff, I import it into the desired track and that’s it.

Now for a programming question (I program in C# and VB.NET, and I think it could be done).

I know your patterns/motions come embedded within the executable file, and are possibly XML or JSON data.
Okay, here comes the question:

If it’s not possible to import a MIDI file as a pattern, would it be possible to import it as a different data, that is, a writable file (.XML, JSON, etc.).

The notes in the piano roll are just X, Y values and their durations, so importing and exporting editable patterns wouldn’t be very complicated.

I’m looking forward to the new motions… (It’s definitely the most creative part of this update) Thank you so much…
