I’m having the same issue
Hi guys, I’m still getting a lot of crashes in the VST and Standalone versions with Reason V12 and V13.
Can someone please confirm the folder on Windows 11 the crash log/dump files end up so I can share.
Thanks
I had duplicated a track with SC3 and was attempting to drag highlight chords in the second instance of SC3 to delete them. Crash ensued.
When I reopened the Live file, all the chords in the second instance of SC3 were gone.

Thanks for all of these reports @jeffreyk We are trying to minimise things on the forum to figure out what are reproducible bugs. It’s hard working through the noise to figure out what is a thing or not. A one time crash that doesn’t occur again could be down to so many factors sometimes outside of Scaler’s wrongdoing. All good if it’s repeatable then please do post and also images for crash reports are no good as our devs can’t share. Could you please upload .txt files?
Absolutely @davide. I wasnt aware Scaler generates a txt file. Where will I find that? Or do you mean the Live Diagnostic Report? They are not in .txt format but rather .ips format. This forum will not accept .ips files. I have located and converted to .txt the last 4 .ips files that are Live Crashes when using SC3. They are attached.
Further to this crash, the same behaviour of attempting to drag-highlight chords either in the A Chord Set or C Main Track in Arrangement resulting in a crash is very regular, just not always immediate.

Hi @Iggster, welcome to the forum.
For Windows 11, Reason crash logs are typically found at:
- Reason’s logs:
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Propellerhead Software\Reason\Logs
(orReason Studios
instead ofPropellerhead Software
for newer installations) - Windows crash dumps:
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps
Since AppData is hidden by default, either enable “Hidden items” in File Explorer’s View menu or use Win+R and type %appdata%
to access it directly.
Cheers.

I had the same problem.
By deleting C:\Users[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Scaler 3\Scaler 3.settings in windows, stand-alone works correctly.
In mac, this should be something like /Users/[NAME]/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings
Hi,
FYI, on Mac, it seems to be in ‘/Users/[NAME]/Library/Scaler Music/Scaler 3/settings.pref’.
You can also find there user Preset, ChordSets, etc.
Cheers

Ooops, sorry @Miki you were right, I indeed found a file ‘/Users/me/Library/Application Support/Scaler 3.settings’. I miss it initially cause I was looking for a directory above
Cheers

I was attempting to highlight and drag some chords in the Main Track Arrangement Tab.

As the title says and I have reported this in Support Ticket - SCLR-18882
Scalar crashes radomly when changing chord length, scales, semitones. Happens both standalone and as an audio plug in Logic 11.1.2. tried the Midi FX plug yesterday and that was more stable BUT I got a crash there too.
I can provide you with more info if needed. Just say what!
I really like Scaler 3 - the workflow is SO much better than 2 and that is why I´m a bit frustrated about the crashes.
Best regards
Holger
When I try to select all on the main track on the arrange page, it stops and crashes. Very frustrating!
I’m using Scaler 3 on an M2 Apple MacBook Pro running OS 15.3.2. When I try and drag anything from Scaler - the stand-alone, and as a plug-in - Scaler crashes.
We have a Scaler 3 1.0.5 in Beta testing we are confident will resolve most issues in this thread!
Hi
I’m facing the same issues. Did a clean install. Still crashing. At this point Scaler 3 is unusable for me.
I love this product, so it’s a tad frustrating. ( :

I use scaler 3 in Reaper and it’s barely working.
Constant crashing when you click open something, usually in the arranger.
The whole DAW crashes. I’ve had at least 7 crashes in a few hours.
This happens in new projects as well when only using Scaler 3. So I don’t think it’s related to any other plugins.
Hi Darren - I’ve spoken to scaler support and I think there will be a less buggy update released in a month or so. I’m waiting for that and keeping my fingers crossed.
I know “use a different product” posts aren’t that helpful, but as an alternative I’m using a combo of the old scaler 2 for some of the functions and chord genie by unison for the generative side. Annoying to spend the extra, but hey-ho.
