OK, where did this go? In Scaler 2 it was a preference setting that would attach a chord name to midi transferred into Reaper. I swear years ago I drove the bandwagon to get this feature. Hate if it was lost. It is not in the manual.
It is not only Scaler, it is also Reaper. I also had trouble to find this option and a several years ago, I somehow did it.
But a few moments ago I tried with both Scaler 2 and Scaler 3…and it is gone
So, I need to find out again how I did it the first time.
Was it something with labels or so…? I forgot.
If I find (or hopefully: when I find), I’ll let you know.
EDIT:
So, this is screen is with Reaper 7.0.7
You may see that the track (1) from Scaler 2 has chords names, whilst the track from Scaler 3 does not (2).
But then…
Reaper 7.3.5:
Scaler 2 : only one chord (the last) is named (3), and none from Scaler 3 (4).
It is still there in Scaler 2 and still works. Setting - Session -down on the botton. I tried to test in Reaper but discoved my Scaler2.VST is missing??? But my Scaler2 standalone is working fine draging chords to current Reaper (7.3.4).
.
Still missing “Export Chord Markers” in the preferences section of S3 b1.0.5. Is this feature coming back?
I miss it, too, but as I mentioned, Reaper doesn’t do it with Scaler 2 in new versions , 7.x.x.
Miki, thanks for helping keep request alive. I am just sad you are having problems with Scaler2 and current Reaper (7.37) as midi markers continue to work for me just as they always have. Please be sure you have “enabled” midi markers in Scaler2 preferences? By the way, I no longer have the Scaler2.VST avialalbe in Reaper so I use Scaler2 standalone with Tone2.com. Maybe that is how it works for me.
My bad - Scaler 2 midi markers work in Reaper 7.37 (after not working in 7.35 no idea why, I change nothing in S2 settings).
Scaler 3 MIDI markers still DO NOT work. So, yes, this option should be added.
