Scaler 3? I almost daren't ask, but I shall

Post title says it all really. The lack of any updates, comments or information is confusing.

Is Scaler 3 still planned for a release? Or has the project proven too challenging?

Is there ANY reliable means of knowing when it might (or might not therefore) see the light of day?

Not trying to be in the slightest unkind or critical, but a huge problem in the world of software development is to promise something that does not get delivered. Would be nice to know if there is genuinely a release planned.

I am sure it will be released when it is ready

in the same sense, presumably, that ā€œI shall live until I dieā€?

The creator of the software seems to have nothing to say to us.

Developing innovative, cutting edge software is incredibly difficult. There’s an old saying, the last 10% requires 90% of the effort.

Davide and the rest of the Scaler team have been working hard and were forecasting for it to be ready to at least show by the end of 2024. So that means they’re all of 5 days late…

I can be patient as I know what they’re aiming for will be epic, and their track record is brilliant… :+1:

@davide

I’ve been a longtime customer of Scaler and learned most of what I know from your videos. I’m not a professional musician (just passionate and a hobbyist), but I’ve been in IT and software development for 20 years. I’m also a content and knowledge expert who helps startups and large enterprise build knowledge bases, internal and external.

I’d love to volunteer my time or somehow be a part of developing Scaler’s user manuals and guides. I’m happy to volunteer my time and effort with just one catch! I’d love to discuss this with you or someone to see what are the chances of making this happen. I’m on a mission and I’ve undertaken a project to tie all this together. What do you say? Please?

I’ve spent the whole of my life in building software products. My experience has been that when you release v2, users will clamour to know when V3 is going to be released.
If you answer ā€œwe do have a pathway for evolution, but are not able to comment further at this timeā€, users will speculate it’s come unstuck / they have run out of money / the development is too complex …

If you answer " we hope to have a new update in maybe 12 months time" , come 12 months and 1 day users will speculate it’s come unstuck / they have run out of money / the development is to complex … (in spite of it being 'hope; and ā€˜maybe’)

I still have to use the current version to its full extent.

My take on v3 is that

{1) it will come when it comes
{2} it will be step forward on what we have now
{3} the scaler user spectrum is a broad church, and some users will cheer more than others about new features (i.e. the vendor can’t win)
{4} I don’t see anything on the market that does quite what Scaler does today, never mind v3
{5} Davide and team are pros.

Just a view …
