Scaler 3 Beta Testing Group

Hello,

As a music producer focusing on chord progressions, melody writing, and harmonic structures, I have been using Scaler for a long time and truly appreciate the creative possibilities it offers. I consider Scaler an essential tool for exploring chord theory and crafting inspiring harmonic structures.

By joining the beta testing process, I aim to thoroughly explore new features and provide valuable feedback to contribute to the software’s development. I plan to test Scaler in real production environments, across different music genres, and within creative composition workflows, ensuring both technical and user experience insights.

Additionally, I’m curious about how I can integrate my own MIDI library with Scaler 3 and what kind of impact it will have on my musical workflow. By testing my MIDI files within Scaler, I hope to provide feedback on compatibility, creative potential, and possible improvements.

I’m excited to contribute to the development of Scaler 3 with my experience and technical knowledge.

Thank you!

Hi Davide

I would like to be part of the beta test for Scaler 3. I use FL Studio and on my YouTube I have over 50 videos showcasing Scaler 1-2

Hi Davide, I got an invite, and would like to test, did I miss the download link? I suspect you may well have the Cubase/Windows setup covered, though my use cases may be somewhat different to usual. Anyway, whether accepted or not, all the best with the testing!

Hi @davide , does Scaler 3 share the same sound location folder as Scaler 2, or is it a brand new sound library.

I can’t beta test Scaler 3, other issues have cropped up, but by watching the pre-release YouTube videos, this is an easy upgrade purchase.

Good Job to you and the dev. Team :+1:

Will be the same but moved, for the current Beta we are asking users to copy across as per the instructions in the Scaler 3 Beta - Info and Installers thread beta users will have access too @skank Have a look there for the installers!

Also just want to let everyone know Beta 2 is due very soon and will let more of our users into the beta testing group. Thank you!

Hi, I’d like to join the beta program. I’ve been a helpful contributor to Scaler 2 suggesting many improvements and spotting bugs. I believe I can continue providing valuable insight to Scaler 3.

Hi @davide ,
are new Beta-Testers still needed?
I would really love to participate. :man_technologist: :mag: :bulb:

If the test user are complete… then I wish you all the best for finalizing Scaler 3!
From what we already know from the Prerelease Reveals is , that this sofware will be brilliant and really usefull.

All the best, Alex

Hi, new member, old reader here. I have been using Scaler since version 1 and will stay a future user.

I guess that you have many on the beta testing already.

I have a mac m1 running newest version of ableton, with a lot of arturia and native instruments. A komplete kontrol s49, a launchpad x and ssl uf8 and uc1.

I use scaler for composition in many scenarios.

I guess as a lot of the others on this forum.

If you somehow find my setup interesting for tresting, I would be happy to take scale 3 beta for a spin.

All the best
Henrik

Thanks Davide for this addition in beta3

Hello David!
Scaler 2 user here – would love to try out the Scaler 3 Beta in Luna and report findings, if any.

Thanks

Hi there, I just got the upgrade from Scaler 2 to 3 in pluginboutique, I know its probably more or less than 1 day before launch but can someone add me to the beta? Thanks!

Hi David, extreme late. I use Scaler since 5 days. Beta tester for Steinberg. Using: Cubase14, Logic 12…, Ableton Live 12 Suite, FL-Studio, Waveform 13.

In addition FeelyourSound plugins and WA Instacomposer. I am a hobby musician.

@davide I discovered something in Scaler 3—plugins like Soothe and similar ones cause a lot of latency in Ableton, which is really frustrating. But when I load them into Scaler, I get zero latency, which is absolutely incredible! I don’t know how you did it, but I truly think you should release this as an effect rack.

A general question.

As beta testing continues after commercial release, can someone tell me if they successfully installed beta 3.x alongside the commercial (PIB) version?

I ask bc i want to get the PIB version before the sale ends but also want to continue testing.

The Scaler Wrapper (NOT the instrument wrapper) wraps scaler as a midi effect. Maybe this does the job

Generally, it is necessary to uninstall current version, and then install any other. So, no, they don’t go together.
But, I already installed beta 2, had some troubles, uninstalled, went to alpha (no problem), uninstalled, then to beta 1, uninstalled, and finally to CR1 and 2.

Hello everyone,

In Scaler, when we use chord extensions and follow the chords, the black keys don’t function as expected. I believe the black keys should also be active, because this would allow any MIDI file to play more smoothly when it follows our chords.

I hope I explained this clearly.

Also, will there be a new update soon? I’ve experienced quite a few crashes, and had to uninstall and reinstall the software a couple of times.

Thanks!
