Resizing of Scaler Window in DAW

The Scaler 3 window fits at the top and sides, but is below the bottom of the screen. This means I can’t get to the main chord set. Is there a screen size control somewhere?

The one I found is grabbing the right side of the SC3 window in any point, then grabbing it toward the centre
It works in my system, I hope in your also

You may see a small triangle at the bottom right corner. That’s what I used to resize. hope this helps.

Yes, a little bit tiny, but works fine:

Nope, the OP doesn’t see the corner, like me, because the SC window is too much large: in this case you have to grab the side, NOT the corner

Good to know, my friend.

You are welcome :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is what I see

Right. The Scaler window extends below the edge of the screen, and I can’t access the bottom corner to grab the triangle.

Grab the side instead, and you are save :grinning:

I mean, hover the side until the Selection pointer appears, then pick & grab the side toward the centre

Thank you.

Lol, when I booted the project, Scaler was correctly sized. Don’t know why. The double-sided arrow on the side doesn’t do anything for me … but now I can reach the little arrow shaped thing at the bottom. So all is well for now. Thanks again for your help!

If you right-click on the Scaler logo in the top left corner you can choose “reset to default size” - this fixes the large window issue.

Not in my case: the corner is always out of reach

Thank you. That works perfectly.

Quick Solution:

I found that RIGHT CLICKING on the Scalar Log (top left) reset the plugin size. Arguably one of the least intuitive pieces or UI design I have ever seen. Maybe next time put it at the top of the menu? And while you’re at it, perhaps consolidate the two menus. There is nothing unique to the two menus that can’t be better handled with a mere tab within the one preferences dialog. Right-clicking is normally reserved for CONTEXTUAL functionality of whatever is being right clicked. For example, sharing a selected file or changing the presentation (font, color, whatever) of a selected block of text, etc. I would say Scalar 3’s usage of this function in this particular case is general functionality that belongs at the top of a menu (perhaps a View subcategory - always the top in the event that the bottom of the dialog is lost because of window size issues).

ORIGINAL POST
My experience with Scalar 3 has been bumpy. VERY bumpy. First and foremost among my issues is the simple task of resizing the scaler window. I normally use a large monitor but have my laptop on the road. It seems Scaler has remembered its size from when I was on the larger monitor and as a result, I can’t get to the lower part of the Scaler window in order to grab the bottom-right handle (assuming it has one?) so I can then resize it.

Am I missing something simple? I seem to be unable to find any control for restoring the size appropriate to my current resolution. There is nothing in either of the menus (Scalar Logo or Hamburger). By the way why even split those up? Seems unnecessarily disruptive.

What do I need to do to use resize/reset the window so I can use Scaler again?

Hi @singermark, thanks for your post – I’ve merged it with this existing topic. Appreciate the feedback regarding the right-click behaviour, and glad you were able to find Right-click > Reset to Default Size.
