Recording one bar late

I have tried to record several projects with Scaler 3. I am experiencing a bug that just seems to have popped up. (S3 was doing fine for about a day or two.) whenever I try to record, Scaler 3 starts one bar too late! This makes working with the app extremely difficult. I’ve started putting an empty bar at the beginnings of my recordings, but for what I spent on the app, I think that this is an important issue that needs to be addressed. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Stranger1971 i’m welcome to the forum. We haven’t had or know of any issue with Scaler 3 starting one bar late. Could you give us some steps to reproduce so we can try and help you work out what’s going on? Also info on your setup, DAW, PC etc.

Hello.
I am using Scaler 3 within Cubasis 3 on an iPad Air 4th generation running iOS 26.5 beta. If you like, I can send you a video capture of what’s happening. I’m also having trouble with the MIDI capture. Is there any way to capture MIDI in rea time for use in sketch or as a master track?

Regards,

William.

Hello, David. I am attempting to use Scaler 3 on an iPad Air 4th generation with iOS 26.5 beta. My DAW is Cubasis 3.8. I will (attempt to) attach a screen capture which I hope will illustrate what’s going on.

Regards,

William.

Hi @Stranger1971 unfortunately you may not be able to attach videos directly here on the forum. Would you mind uploading to a cloud storage platform like Google Drive or iCloud and sharing the video link? You can DM me the link if you’d prefer.

As Davide mentioned this is not something we have encountered or heard reported so it would be nice to see exactly what is happening. You may also like to check whether or not Play Quantize is disabled via the Settings menu in case that is interfering with playback timing.

Hi, Tristan, hi Davide,

Here’s the link to my screen capture on Drive. Whenever I want to record something, I also have to disable all of the other channels instead of just outputting a single channel. That is very confusing if I’m working with a lot of tracks. I’d appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks!
Bill

Hi @Stranger1971 the Google Drive link you provided looks to be restricted. Would you mind changing the access settings for public access so we can download and take a look? Hopefully then we can figure out what is going wrong. Thanks.

Sorry about that. I always forget about managing the access. It’s fixed, and I’ll send the link again, just to be sure.

Hi @Stranger1971 thanks I can now access that video link. It does seem as though Scaler 3 is indeed recording one bar too late, but this is not something we’ve able to reproduce and I cannot think of why this would be happening.

First of all, the Scaler 3.2.4 update for iPad has now been released so be sure to update to this latest version.

If the issue persists, could you please try observing Scaler 3’s Arrange page during recording to see if anything unusual is happening? In your video, the Scaler 3 plugin window is closed during recording. I’m mostly curious about what Scaler 3 is doing during that first bar when it should be playing.

You may also like to try disabling the 1 bar count-in in Cubasis to see if that is interfering. It’s possible that is throwing off Scaler 3’s timeline in DAW sync mode.
