Quick way of applying a scale to pattern?

Is there an easy/quick way of applying the notes of a scale to pattern pads? So single notes to each pad? Atm im applying chords to each pad and editing each one down to the desired single note…But this is time consuming and does not save properly (weirdly reverts back to chords). Is there a quick way? Am i missing something obvious??
