Problems with Chords with Keys-Lock Function

Hello everyone, I am new here and hope you can help me.

I am having problems playing chords.

Since I’m not good at music theory, I want to use the Key-Lock Function so that when I press a key, the chord of a certain scale plays.

My problem is that when I press the E key for an E min chord, it plays a G maj chord.

What is the problem?

I have looked for several hours to see what the problem is, but I can’t find a solution.

I´m using FL Studio.

Can you help me? I would really appreciate it.

Hi @GodBlessYou

The function you use to enable a single note to play a chord is the midi BIND function. To enable binding you simply click on the Bind switch to the right of the section. This can be done on the MAIN page

or the PAD page.

Playing a grey key will play a block (chord).

The green keys are used to switch between patterns when you have more than one pattern.

There is a section on binding in this video on YouTube.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I already know how to activate the chord function.
My question was why a G major chord is played although I press the E key to play an E minor chord.

I expect that when I press the E button, an E minor chord is played and not a G major chord.

What exactly is the problem?

I am not sure I really understand what the issue is, I thought it was about key binding. Can you please export the Scaler state where you are having the issue and upload it here. Then it may be possible to recrate the issue and try to explain what is happening.

Can you also clarify which option of Keys Lock you have chosen when this happens:

  1. Scale Notes Mapped
  2. Scale Notes Only
  3. Scale White Keys
  4. Chord Notes
  5. Chord Extensions.

In the settings you can change the binding of the chords to a lower octave. You can then play the notes in the higher octaves to write melodies without accidentally triggering the chords. I’m guessing that’s the issue?
