Prevent Scaler from triggering Keyswitches

Hi there.

I’m using Scaler 3 in Reaper to control Electric Mint (Kontakt). The main notes play fine, but Scaler is unexpectedly sending MIDI Control Change (CC) messages that trigger unwanted keyswitch articulations in Electric Mint.

I’ve identified these CC messages using a MIDI Logger:

  • CC 47
  • CC 52
  • CC 55

These CCs are being sent by Scaler, even though I expect it to send only musical notes in the main playing range, or specific keyswitch notes if intended.

I’ve tried using Reaper’s “JS: MIDI Note Filter” and “JS: MIDI CC Mapper” to block them, but this doesn’t seem to work, or the filtering approach is incorrect for these specific CCs.

My goal is to stop Scaler 3 from sending these specific CC messages (47, 52, 55) so they don’t trigger unwanted articulations in Electric Mint.

Is there a setting within Scaler 3 itself to prevent it from generating these particular CC messages, or to filter its MIDI output more precisely? Or should I look for a different approach?

Thanks for any help!

Hi @Maarten_Albers I’m not aware of Scaler 3 unexpectedly outputting those MIDI CC messages. Are you certain Scaler 3 is the source? Could you describe in more detail what Scaler is doing when these MIDI messages are being logged?
