Plugin scanning

Hello, I was just after some community feedback around scanning my collection of synth plugins from a variety of makers.

I purchased Scaler 3 at release and scanned my plugins at that initial install but had a variety of authorisation issues. Basically all my synths became unauthorised outside of scaler as if it had grabbed all the authorisations and they could no longer be used outside scaler without reauthorising them again but then they didn’t appear in scaler anymore.

I’ve left things like that ever since and when updating to new Scaler versions I haven’t asked Scaler to search for plugins. I’ve naturally found ways of working around all that by exporting MIDI parts etc but of course that can be slow and tedious and I’m missing out on using one of Scaler 3’s key features.

With 3.2 I really feel like I need to get this issue sorted so am asking if anyone else has had issues with their synth plugins and associated authorisations?

I use synths by Cherry, Roland, Universal Audio, Native Instruments, Waldorf, Rob Papen and Moog.

Thanks, Peter B

Hi @Katentek Mmm sounds strange. It’s not possible for Scaler 3 to ‘grab’ authorisations. I’ve never heard of this happening before, so must be something to do with your setup somehow.
All Scaler 3 does is access your plugins just like any other host would. If they are not authorised that will show up as such in any host.
Maybe some other users may have an idea as to what has happened?

Hi Davide, You know it only ever happened that once the first time I installed Scaler and I’ve never tried again. The next time I went to use a synth I had to authorise it and I assumed it was a Scaler issue and how it accesses those synths without really understanding how all that stuff works. But from what you say it mustn’t have anything to do with Scaler and something else must have glitched that day :man_shrugging:t2:

I’ve never seen anyone mention it so was really wondering if it was just some weirdness that day.

Anyway that’s excellent news, I will go ahead and scan my synths tomorrow. Happy days!
