Good evening everyone! A request for something truly amazing: the Humanize function in Scaler 3 doesn’t affect the timing or velocity of the notes in a relevant manner. Even with the function activated, the chords always have the same execution with minimal variations. It would be really fantastic if the “randomness” could be controlled through the velocity of the key being pressed. If I play with slow velocity, there’s a higher chance the notes will be played more gently, with greater randomization. This could even lead to some “passing” notes. Currently, before the VST I control with Scaler 3, I’ve added a random velocity effect in Live, which provides more options for note filters and velocity curve adjustments. But the new Strumming in Expressive Chords is truly fantastic and can be mapped to achieve very realistic results. Thanks, everyone!
Hey @RobFuture Humanise function does affect the timing and velocity in a subtle way, roughly there’s a 5-15% variation in whichever you select (timing, velocity, both). See attached.
Having said that we have wanted to expand this and allow for more user control for time we just haven’t been able to get to it. I do like the velocity to increased randomness idea too. That could be a simple profile add in that Humanise section (Velocity Control) although that would mean that it would disconnect from velocity to amp. Anyways thanks for feedback - food for thought!
Sorry for the delay Davide. It would be amazing to have more control on strum and humanize functions. There are several Max for Live devices that do cool things. One of them is Strum by
pATCHES, that can use the mod wheel or an LFO to add variations.
