Not convinced by the pseudo 3D closer X button look

Scaler 2 has this pseudo 3d look at some buttons. For me it looks a bit cheap, but the real issue is that these buttons are smaller than in Scaler1. They were easy to hit with the mouse.

I know that some people start to use this pseudo 3d look again, but for me it looks dated and not so good to use than a simple and clear X.

Thanks for the feedback. Scaler is a beast that requires constant refinement and improvement. We are devoted and appreciate feedback.
