I have just reinstalled Scaler on a new Windows device but I can’t register it (so I get the intermittent white noise) because the “close” link on the main screen that the install instructions say I should click on to complete the registration is not there.
Hi @amm, welcome to the forum. Have you tried rebooting your machine since installing? If you’ve restarted and still can’t see the ‘close’ button on the welcome screen, it might be related to the size of the GUI, similar to this post which was solved by selecting the “esc” key to exit the welcome screen and then resizing. If none of that works, please post a screenshot and we’ll do our best to help. Cheers
Hi Steven - thanks for responding. I rebooted but get the same thing. The plugin opens to the Welcome screen as if it were already registered but I still get the white noise.Still no ‘close’ link - and the esc key didn’t do anything and re-sizing does not make a difference. I tried including a screenshot but when I use the Upload button or drag a screenshot into the post I get a message saying I can’t embed media in a post.
Hi @amm
A possible culprit is the font-size in your OS
If you enlarge them, e.g. 125% or more, some OS items (menus, buttons) may go out of view
So either reduce the font size temporarily, or click/tab the Tab key multiple times hoping to hit the OK button
Thanks Claudio - good thought but unfortunately not the culprit in this case. However, I do seem to have fixed the issue. It could be that Studio One is the problem. When I launched Ableton Live instead, I got the registration pop up and was able to register successfully - and when I flipped back to Studio One, it was successfully registered (no more white noise) there too!
