It seems this was suggested a few times but the answer is always that you can build the chord by clicking the notes that make up the chord. Not only is that arguably slower than simply typing the chord, but it also implies that I know the notes that make up the chord (I’d have to look up every chord). Since I feel Scaler is targeted at also those with a lack of theory and chord chart memory, it would be lovely to simply type the progression, as one can in say Band in a Box. Would this ever be considered?
Thanks!
Hi, can we not just use the Circle of Fifths page and click on the notes to reveal the chords? Or drag and drop from Scale or Colors? I think there are many ways to create a chord progression without entering the notes of the actual chords. I think you are asking why can’t we type I ,IV, V, VI?
PS We are going to incorporate a pop up box with chord extensions which I think will give you what you want!
Essentially if I already know the chord progression I need, say E♭ᵐᵃʲ⁷ Cₘ Gₘ Dₘ. That I can quickly type those into the blocks. I’m looking to have an alternative to Band in a Box on ipad, as they don’t have a dedicated app. Right now I would it can take several steps to get those in, particularly if I wanted to modify the Eb chord. And if others needed it, it’s more steps. And I’d like it to be quick to be edited in a live setting. Obviously you have more time to tinker in the studio.
But maybe I’m an edge case. ![]()
