Hello. Is there anywhere I can download older versions of Scaler 2 that may be compatible with my Mac? I recently bought from plugin boutique with high hopes, but when installing this version was greyed out. It is currently at V2.7. I am not sure what would work with my Mac operating on High Sierra. Any and all help is much appreciated.
In your Plugin Boutique account there should be a list of all versions of the plugin on the download page.
Sorry for the ignorant question, but all I see is the download button from my products with only the one drop down version. How do I get to the “download page” as pictured here?
Thanks
Maybe the version starts with the one you purchased. I go back to version one. Try sending a request to Plugin Boutique. They should be able to sort you out.

Hello @Nebulae
I have an older machine with High Sierra OS, I use Logic Pro X 10.4.4 with Scaler 2.7 all is fine. I have been updating since Scaler 1
Thanks for the response. That’s a good indicator it could just be Reason 12 for me. What’s odd is its greyed out even at the install screen, so I’m not sure exactly what’s going on.
Hallo again, just checked with Reason 12, everything is working fine.
Re Install: I am using/used Installer 6440-Scaler-2.7.0.pkg the latest from Pluginboutique
there is an existing scaler on my system so the pic looks like this
click on continue will update the previous version.
Thanks for looking into this. Bizarre… i’ve never downloaded it before and that was the exact image I received but after seeing that you said it worked I proceeded to download it. It then crashed Reason. Basically I think all I got were the “essential sounds” for the download so I don’t know what’s going on.
Is that Scaler that has the black screen? If so you should turn off OpenGL.
Try turning off OpenGL —
- Press CMD+Space to open the Spotlight Search and type “ ScalerSettings ”
- Go to the Help page and click “Turn OFF OpenGL”:
It looks like you have opened Scaler as an effect, not as an instrument. ScalerAudio2 as shown is not what you want, but that works OK for me as well in Reason 12
Thanks so much! That does seem to be the problem is how it is loaded as an instrument. I was attempting to use its auto-detect software, which I thought could be used as a plugin in reason, in order to detect the key of a sample I was going to use in Mimic, but loading it as an instrument definitely works. Now if I could just get it to register my license key without crashing.
Click on the logo on the upper left. It may have registered even with the crash. If it is registered you’ll see it in the window there I think.
Hi, my last suggestion, if Reason has trouble with the registration key, register Scaler with something else (another audio/midi software). e.g. GarageBand, Audacity or whatever else you may have available, This is one thing I certainly didn’t do in Reason, best of luck.
That seemed to do the trick. Thanks a lot for everything guys. I’m not sure if I can route the audio to scaler or midi input it or anything. I know you can route it externally, but this did the trick!
