how do I modify ScalerEQ's default preset?

Hello

I’ve installed ScalerEQ and it is working well. I’ve been able to update some things in the default preset - gui size, etc.

However, I’d like the bands to default to having “flip harmonics” off and I’ve saved a preset named “Default Preset.seq” and moved it that file to the “Scaler EQ” folder, replacing the file already there.

This has not worked. How do I update the default preset to be more to my liking?

Thank-you for your time.

Hi @ArcRunner And welcome to the forum. What DAW are you using? I normally do it there but it appears you are updating the Default Preset in your user folder but you should delete that and try updating

the one in your parent folder:

Hi @davide !

Yes, I did already copy the file to the parent directory - I renamed the original file in the parent folder to “Default Preset.bak” and then compressed it on OSX, then copied the file from the User directory over to the parent directory.

I’m using Bitwig 5 and tried in Ableton 11 as well.

Is there another location ScalerEQ might be looking for the preset file on OSX 15.2 that I could access or a preferences file to update?

As a stand-in workaround I’ve created and favorited a preset I call “flip_harmonicsOFF” and that’s more button clicks, but it’s fine. I can save it into an effect rack as well to get the drag/drop functionality I’m looking for - but I’d rather just successfully update the default preset if possible.

Hmm, I tried it and it didn’t work as expected. We have a major update to Scaler EQ in the works so I have added user default preset to the list. Maybe @jchdejong might be able to shed some light on the where the default preset is being loaded from and whether we can change it in the current Scaler EQ 1.1?
