Let’s say you have a 3 scenes. You could have a different scale associated with each scene and the scale locking would follow along.
For instance you start out in C minor with 3 flats in one section and then you modulate to C Lydian with one sharp. You have to stop and change scale to be able to use the key mapping. If the mapping changed along with the scene, you could just play right through it.
