Guitar Chord Chart Positions and Voicings

Hi.

I have an existing chord progression in Scaler played on the piano. I want to create a guitar part using those chords, but in different positions higher in the register.

Is there a way to use the guitar chord charts to audition the chord to see how it works in relation to the piano part? And can I then add that guitar chord in the new position into the pad section?

Thank you

Hi @Dashman. You can use the left and right arrows beneath chords charts to view guitar chords in different fretboard positions e.g. p1, p2 etc. however these are illustrative to show you how these chords could be played on a guitar, and do not affect how your chords in Scaler sound.

To change the register of your chords in Scaler 2 you can either use the EDIT or CHORD page to nudge your chords up in octaves or inversions, or you can use one of the transpositional Voice Grouping profiles such as Dynamic +1 octave, or even the various Grouping profiles which will limit your chord notes to those within a certain key range e.g. C2 - B3.

You can use PAD view to quickly audition variations of chords e.g. at different registers, however you are still limited to playing one chord at a time, so you may like to use multiple instances of Scaler 2 to hear how one chord sound over the other.
