Barely been making music since Scaler 3 released but sat down with it lately and came across this bug when detecting MIDI. I’m using Ableton and the latest version of Scaler 3 and feeding it MIDI by putting MIDI clips onto my Scaler 3 channel. During my chord progression there is an Emin followed by Emin7. Scaler 3 detects the Emin but as soon as the Emin7 plays it overwrites it. It captures the rest of the chord progression but the Emin just gets left out when its overwritten… Please fix.
Another thing is the plugin seems to crash when I try to undo/redo large tasks. For example I accidentally clicked “Pattern Fill” on a suggestion and when i hit undo, the plugin crashed. Same thing happens when using auto voice leading on a large progression and trying to undo/redo that.
My first feature request is the ability to “add time” when dragging to resize chords on the edit panels rather than overwriting the existing chords. A toggle to swap between behaviours would be really handy.
My second feature request is for the suggest chord function (also the mediants and neo-riemannian pages (and any others)). It would be great to lock the suggestions for a selected chord so that I can jam with my existing chords along with those suggestions and not have the suggestions keep changing. Currently the suggestions are shown for the last played chord and this can be quite confusing, and doesn’t let me test my ideas.
If there’s anything I’m doing wrong please let me know. Loving some of the new features in the plugin. Lets make it the best it can be!
