I am currently trying to use Scaler 3 on the iPad to play live. I set up a cord set, for example G major so that I can play the G major chords with my left hand on the white keys. I then go into the arrange page and set up all the things that can go with what I want to play. Then, let’s say that I get to the gig and somebody says we’re not gonna play this song in G we’re gonna play it in Bb is there an easy way to change the chords in the main track to the chords in the new key I am playing in that will change it for the entire arrangement. Thanks in advance.
Hi @OldTimerBill There’s a few way we could do this.
For me the easiest is go to the Browse Page (main page) and transpose up or down to Bb using the Semi ‘+’ or ‘-’ buttons in the bottom right (next to the Main Track chords). You could also use the Semitone modifier in the Arrange Page (see attached).
Once you have transposed them. You can select all and use ‘Detect’ in the contextual menu or choose Bb in your example as your new key. The in-scale chords will turn blue.

I like this method too, using the + / - buttons.
However Im not sure it also updates the scale that is active for scale locking? So when you play notes across the keyboard, will it lock to what ever scale you have transposed to? Or do you need to set the new scale somewhere to enable this?

It will do if you update the scale as per my comment:
In Suggest Mode we have ‘Auto Detect’ option which continuously updates the scale. We could be clever and when a transpose button is used offer that to the user. Trying to avoid complexity.
