Are the Mac system requirements set in stone?

Hey folks,

i am still running Mac OSX 12.6 (Sierra) but the stated system requirements for Scaler 3 are minimum OSX 14 (Mojave).

Is there any chance that Mojave is just the earliest system you tested it on and are officially supporting, but that it may actually work in Sierra? Even if every feature wasn’t working fully, I would happily upgrade if some of the new features and basic functionality are operational in Sierra.

I am encouraged to note that another user pointed out that Mojave was also the minimum system requirement for Scaler 2, and Scaler 2 works perfectly for me in Sierra… so there is hope…

I’m sad not to be jumping on board today with everyone else. But if there is the possibility that it could work, I will gladly be jumping in to have fun with this incredible new update.

Try the free trial and see for yourself.

I’d love to… I didn’t know there was one.

I just looked on the Scaler 3 page and don’t see any download options…

You need to be logged in to your account, then the free trials are available from the user dashboard.

Thanks! I got locked out of the ScalerMusic site for some reason. I think I was trying to log in before my account was fully processed and it blocked me.

But fortunately, free trials are now downloadable from PluginBoutique so I just got a copy and will try installing it in a short bit.

Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, I could not install the trial. The message in the installer said this:

Scaler Music - Scaler 3 can’t be installed on this disk.
macOS version 10.13 or later is required.

That’s unfortunate.

Oh well. I’ll get there one day.
