How to compose a bass line with your voice

For me, the main instrument I play best is bass. I can’t imagine letting someone do a bass track with someone’s program if I didn’t play it myself with real bass. You should think of bass together with drums and rhythm. There is much more and depending on the style of music of course. Only good drums and bass usually sound good if there is a good groove. Of course, there are songs where the bass is not an important part at all, ie it only plays the Tone of Chords, so if there is an Em, it plays an E-note. and so on.

Hi @Hulkko and @darlaosborne

In Italy I was often said by my relatives when I was young: “se mio nonno avesse le ruote sarebbe una carriola” (if my grandpa had wheels, it would be a barrow )

The meaning of this pun translated to the current days, is that I am unable to play any instrument with my bare hands, and I cannot think to spent the rest of my life to be coached in all instruments, and even if I could, I don’t have the space and the money for an insulated studio, so the only way I can have fun jamming (N.B: I have fun jamming, not selling music) is using plugins, with the further pros to spend 1/10.000 of what a series of hardware instruments requires, not mentioning that I can jam without disturbing my wife and my neighbourhood

Now, coming back to my post, I posted the result of a reproducible test, that proves the practicability of a bassline creation with your own voice (even without tricks like Melodyne) and a few edits, and even if this is a simple test that produces a simple bassline, nothing stops you to produce more complex and variable basslines just adding multiple reiteration of the workflow

my 2 cents by a bedromm jammer LOL

Well, this kind of request usually tickles my appetite for tutorials, he he
So I will create a post about that, as far as I find some time

I can disclose for now that I always use Broomstick Bass for jamming, because its automatic patterns + drums-style metronome + the option to add notes manually in any pattern, adds variable-enough bass & drums with zero effort

Then, while jamming, if I find a song that seems suitable for composition, the BB bassline will be used to fed EZbass through its Audio sender plugin

Then the bassline will be further abbellished with EZbass own patterns, and eventually improved splitting the bassline according to the various part of the song (intro, verse, chorus, etc)

I watched the Ezbass program. It even seemed really good.:ok_hand:
