Scaler 3.2 Crashes in Ableton Live Suite 12.2.7

Hi,

Scaler 3.2 crashes Ableton Live 12.2.7 every time it’s added to a track. The standalone app seems to work ok. I’m on Windows 11 25H2.

I’ve reinstalled several times. Also, the VST version of Scaler 3 disappeared after the install. In the Scaler folder in Ableton there’s only VST3.

Thanks.

I can confirm this as I’m having the same problem.

Works fine here, using the VST3 version of Scaler 3.2.0, Live Suite 12.2.7. Windows 11 25H2. Are there specific repro steps other than just dragging Scaler to a track?

All I do is drag the vst3 to the empty area in session view. The track is created. After the progress indicator stops spinning, Ableton crashes.

I confirm the same problem on my PC, using Ableton Live 11.3.43 on Windows 11 24H2. It also crashes on Cubase Pro 14. Strangely enough, it does not crash on a VST host I use for experimentation / jamming, Cantabile 4.

It’s sufficient to draft the VST3 in a track (or a new track) for the problem to appear.

Hi folks. Very strange to see multiple reports of crashes in Ableton Live on Windows. This is not something I’ve encountered or been able to replicate on Windows 11 25H2 with Scaler 3.2, including using the latest Ableton Live 12.2.7 update.

As a first troubleshooting step it would be worth uninstalling Scaler 3 using Windows’ add/remove programs app, then reinstalling using the latest v3.2 installer, then rebooting.

If the issue persists for anyone, would you mind please submitting your Ableton Live crash report here, or via a DM so we can investigate? You should see an option to view the crash report next time you open Ableton Live following this crash. Thanks.

Has anyone experienced high CPU issues?

Hi, I followed the steps you suggested and now everything seems to work on Ableton. I’ll try on Cubase 14 tomorrow. Thanks!

Hi, after following the above instructions, everything works now. Thank you.
