# Scaler 2 + Chordz: a cool couple

Hi folks

Waiting for the new release and hoping that it will improve the solos, I put here a mini-tutorial where Scaler gives chords and patterns, while Chordz gives you the ability to play solos in a way that is easier and more extensive compared to Scaler 2 Keys-Lock

Let us start with the simple routing

UJAM Virtual Pianist receives the data from Scaler 2  
and Chordz receives the data from a keyboard

Scaler 2 and Chordz have the same root note and scale, but you can use the Chordz Blues scale as well

Using Scaler 2 A section, you can audit all Scaler 2 patterns, that is quite cosy to find the accompaniment you like more

and now the situation in Virtual Pianist

Scaler 2 sends its patterns in the left area (or any other you like), while Chordz sends the notes for solos in the red line area, so you’ll have tons of keys to use for solos (as far as your keyboard allows), not just the 2 octaves or less allwed by Scaler 2 Keys-lock option

Another example [here](https://soundcloud.com/user-658469515/solo) using Scaler 2 to drive the accompaniment guitar, bass & drums, and Chordz + AAS Strum-GS 2 + S-Gear for the solo

A bit better, and a lot of fun using my behringer Swing like a keytar
