Is Scaler3 too slow? vs Scaler2 (with video)

In the video, I am dragging and dropping MIDI into Scaler2. The speed is very fast. When I drag and drop MIDI into Scaler3, the speed is very slow.I recorded a video. Why is this happening?

Scaler 3 is definitely slower than Scaler 2 on my system. Slower to load, slower to react to dragged stuff and slower to reappear when you switch back to it in the DAW. TBH it’s only the the latter that irritates me.

I don’t mind a slow initial loading time but I hop between S3 and other instruments in the DAW and S3 is way slower to reappear than any other plug-in (even the bloated heavyweight ones). I don’t know whether it is down to UI drawing speed to something else but I have a fast PC with plenty of memory and a good graphics card but S3 still shows as a black rectangle for “some seconds” most times I switch back to it. It almost seems to depend on time. If I hop away and come back quickly it draws quickly but If I am “away” for more than a few seconds then it is slow to draw. Almost like it is unloading stuff in the background. Maybe there is some optimisation that can be done in a future update.

So, in summary, yes I think it is slower than S2. It’s not the end of the world but it does sometimes make me scowl.

The problems we encounter are the same. I thought it was just me.

Yep you got it. We optimised the drawing speed on 3.1 and it seems to buffer somewhat. Like you said, not ideal. We are doing some work now for 3.2 to get that back to the speed we expect.

Can you solve the issue with the bass note in Voicing group inversions?

G/B, when I click Voicing group, the keyboard shows B, G, B, D

When I click Voicing group:

G>>>>> G, D, G, B

G/B>>>>> B, G, B, D

thank you!
