In version 2 I could record midi of my chord progression being played with phrases or a performance and I could switch the style as it went and it would get recorded for a drag and drop into then piano roll. Now, the play button needs to be stopped and to switch styles..but there’s no recording anyway so it doesn’t matter. Or is there?
Also, when doubleclicking a performance style, the box will disappear and I’ll end up clicking a new scale or song style and then my chord progression changes and I have no way of retrieving it because that doesn’t get picked up by the undo. I never had that issue in version 2. Feels like a step backwards.
Even though I realize 3 has way more cool stuff than 2 did, I end up using 2 more because it doesn’t frustrate and anger me. I can actually get something done. I’ve only started and then end up abandoning anything I try in 3 because one errant click in the interface can erase the chord progression I had.
Hi @adrencg there seems to be a few things you’re unclear about here.
There are certainly some workflow changes in Scaler 3 which may take some getting used to. MIDI Capture is still possible with Scaler 3 by clicking the record button at the top of the screen, then selecting ‘Capture MIDI’. There is currently a bug in this behaviour regarding the tempo, however this should be fixed in the Scaler 3.1 update due later this month,
If you would like the motion pattern of your track to change over time, we suggest using the Arrange Page. The main track cannot change motion throughout your song, however any additional tracks you add can. This is demonstrated in several Scaler 3 tutorial videos including the Getting Started part 1 video:
Note that when using the motion browser, you only need to single click on the name of the patten to select it. Double clicking is only necessary when clicking on the motion illustration, in which case a single click is used to preview the pattern.
