Drag and drop new chord

It would be great to be able to alt drag a new chord to directly replace the old one it the time line..

and also.

While looping in DAW highlight a chord and audition replacement chord..so you can hear chord in context.

Hey Gerry. Are we talking Scaler 3 here? You can drag a chord and directly replace it or insert it according to the animation. No need to ‘Alt’ drag as we did in Scaler 2.

I can only get it to replace a whole bar. What’s the trick?

Thanks

Do you mean in the Arrange Page? You can hold Command-Drag on a Mac and on PC it’s Alt (or Ctrl) Drag. If you are dragging from another section you can just drag over the middle of the destination chord to replace.

This issue is what I often say: dragging and dropping chords in Scaler 2 feels better.

Scaler 2 has a black frame, so dragging and dropping chords is precise and comfortable. Scaler 3 removed the black frame. This often causes replacing a chord to turn into inserting a new one, which happens almost every time, making me not want to continue. As the Scaler team, you can’t really feel the same way, because Scaler is your ‘child,’ and you only see the advantages. As a user, I still have to say that dragging and dropping chords feels better, simpler, and more direct in Scaler 2.

When I drag and drop chords in Scaler 3, moving slightly to the left inserts a chord. You have to deliberately move a bit to the right to overwrite a chord. Or you have to see the white squares appear around it to know you can overwrite. This feeling is kind of frustrating. Hopefully, it can be improved.
