It’s still the closest thing to a “standard” location for VST2. And, you know, Steinberg invented VST. ---

What is the reason for not giving users options for install path? ---

Are you running on Windows or Mac? The Windows installer does give you the option to change the install path. ---

Hi, yes, I’m running W11 and I can change the path; however, I do not have a Steinberg directory and the installer wants to create it…it’s just unnecessary, just start at "C:". I have all my plugins installed so that I can back them up easily and not across deep buried folders ( C:\VST\ ). This was enormously helpful recently when I built my new PC. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but it’s a pet peeve going back to the 90’s. Steinberg’s invention of VST is irrelevant to my filesystem 😉 Cheers, A ---

I just installed the latest update and told it to install to my C:\VST folder and it totally ignored it. I have crap in Program Files, Common Files, and freaking ..\User\Public Documents!! Seriously guys? This is just messy. ---
