A working way to import MIDIs from most tablature tools

Hi devs

I hope that you will find a way to import most kind of MIDIs made with other tools, because it is actually useless, both for ChordPulse and Guitar Pro at least

for example, this MIDI makes SC3 crash

Otherwise, I think you should advice customers that the MIDI detect feature works only with MIDIs coming from keyboards, or simple guitar chords

And, have you ever thought to a way to import standard tablatures like the one below

That is going to be a sticking point for everything.

I use other tools as well. Getting the chords from one to the other is always a pain. Part of it is that they all use their own setup to create the chords. The more complex the chord, the harder it is to figure out what the actual chord is without any real context. Throw in upper extensions and different inversions, you can have people come to different conclusions.

Personally, I gave up. It is faster to enter them manually than it is to import them and then try to sort out what went wrong with the receiving tool’s interpretation of what the chord was. I use Logic and you should see some of the bizarre interpretations that it comes up with when I want to import chords from Scaler. It doesn’t seem to believe in the existence of borrowed chords…Then it also decides at random points that there was a key change and then to remove those, you have to be careful as it will transpose the chords when you do unless you are careful.

The biggest improvement for me was adding a second monitor. That way I can see the programs side by side and read from one to input them into another.

Scaler used to be great for entering the chords into the chord track in Logic. Then Logic seems to have broken that. Oh well.

Getting the chords from one to the other is always a pain

Well, not a big problem to me nowadays: after I started to play my guitars, I gave up asking SC3 for progressions

I prefer finding progressions on my axe directly, then I ask to SC3 to recognize them, so to be able to use SC3 to conduct backing-track plugins (bass, drums & pianos)

Sometimes I enter chords manually in SC3, but the faint fonts that remain in parts of the SC3 GUI push me to prefer the first procedure
